When you turn pro, skiing down 10,000 foot slope at breakneck speed, the $400+ ones can stop the cold rush while still let your warm sweat out, more so if you paddling hard in freezing water. More $ indeed "could" buy you more "stuff" that may or may not be needed

For cheap items like this, if it doesn't fit, I just give it to a homeless person. Wife actually wanted to buy 10 just to give out next winter, but there was only 2 left when we ordered. Only thing we've ever returned after a decade of ordering was an AC that was damaged in shipping. Sad to see folks so cavalier about returns.
