Just a heads up:
Bought $100 Instacart GC last time it was on sale. I always place an order on Instacart when they have some promos - often $25-30 off coupons. Redeemed the GC and placed an order, Instacart cancelled it and locked my account. Now they won't unlock it, and the GC is gone. BestBuy wont do anything abt it.

There are two ways to leverage Instacart with Costco. One is through the normal Instacart app/site, and the other is through Costco Sameday [costco.com]. Often the latter option is slightly cheaper (though still more expensive than in-warehouse pricing.

Don't know what you did, but I have been using Instacart gift cards from Best Buy, Newegg and Amazon and never have had a problem with it. I can only say sorry to hear about that.

If you are going to use it with any of their promo codes (like $25 or $30 off that they often offer), there is a good good chance they'll lock the account and the gift card. I read it here happening to someone else too.

Instacart is only worth it with their new user coupons, like the $30 off $50 coupon from Google Pay. Anything else and you are spending at least 30% more than just buying the stuff yourself.

Instacart used to be really good, but they're far too expensive now. I recently placed an order and they wanted to charge me $380 for a $250 grocery order. That's a 50% mark up. No thanks.

Markup on Instacart is really stiff these days. With service fee & tip, the actual cost is nearly +50% compared to in-store shopping. Also, I feel grocery needs check & pick especially for fresh produce and dairy. Pass~~

Not sure what's going on with your account but I've used these more than once and never had any issues whatsoever. Maybe you were using EBT?

What was the reason they gave you for doing that? Why would Best Buy have any responsibility for that? If you didn't do anything wrong, can't you say take some kind of legal action? Small claims court?
I do have a friend who did some orders a few years back and later on found out they adjusted the orders to charge much much more. Without notifying him. He didn't have time to deal with them at the time, wondering if he could still complain, investigate.

Are the gift cards safe if you don't Stick it in your account right away? Not guaranteed? No Help if someone else somehow used the gift card number?

Sure Instacart costs more - but what's your time (driving to and from the store, loading and unloading and loading your cart and loading and unloading your car) worth? Plus gas to and from the store. It's not for everyone and we don't do it for everything but it's a nice service.
