Looks like they killed it pretty quickly... still have the sale price showing in my cart (screenshot attached). Sorry about that.

why not just post an amazon item instead.
See my comment above. If I have two deals in an OP, and both retailers are reputable, I'll feature the non-amazon one as they seem to kill many of the deals I post not long after I post them.
I had this grill. Didn't get hot enough for a nice brown caramelization for the outside of certain cuts.
Never heard someone say that before. How do you manage that? Do you cook the meat until near ready then turn up the heat at the very end to slightly char the outside?

Depending on the type and cut, I want the heat high enough to brown the outside before raising the internal temperature past the preferred cook. This model, the heat wasn't intense enough and meat would cook slower raising the internal temps before adding color. Had to use something like a cast iron plate first to heat up and seer rather than using a direct flame. Perhaps it was just the one I was using that possibly had a flow or another flaw. But that was my experience.

Thanks for the info, always looking to up my very amateur grill game. Regarding the heat, the 10K BTU is pretty darn low even for a small grill. Not a surprise it was a little anemic for your needs.

My experience:
I ordered Monday late afternoon for pick up the next day. Monday night I cut and thinned some chicken breast, dropped them in a brine over night, picked up the grill today during lunch hour. It took about 25 minutes setting up the grill sitting in the front lawn. I'm sure at a workbench or indoor counter would make it easier.
I let it heat up on med-high/High to burn off smells and chemicals for 20 minutes, my ir thermo was reading about 350°F at the grates/burner guard.
Rubbed oiled paper towel to help coat grates and sprayed some oil to get flare ups, closed the lid on high for another 5 mins, temps got to near 400°F now.
Before grill set up, I had dried and then rubbed a mix on the chicken breast, so it was ready to go on now, little bit more oil and chicken went on.
The rear of the grill definitely retains more heat, I saw more grate discoloration in the back half so put the big pieces of meat there.
All in all cooks well but takes tine. Chicken took longer than xpected but was juicy af (due to probably both the brining and only moderate heat of the grill), but also didn't get much browning because heat wasn't much, I had to drip oil to get flares to get some char going.
GRANTED I WAS USING A HALF EMP- HALF FULL GREEN CAN OF LP. I have a tank to 1lb adapter from charbroil coming in tomorrow and will cook more in coming days on this grill.
But I assume a new can isn't going to give more pressure/heat as the grill is designed with a fixed regulator. Maybe there are other regulators which allow more gas to flow, but I'm new to this world of customizing gas grilling.
Tldr
Other than these quirks, it's a good grill for $50. It doesn't get super hot but maybe it needs to preheat longer. Can hold about 6 medium pieces of breast or thighs or probably 8 burgers. Grate isn't flimsy, spacing is decent, soft fatty burgers may fall through idk, but also don't expect it to hold heat like cast iron or a even a big stainless steel grill.
Really love the thought out design like ignition switch a plus if lighter not present. The side mount, cool touch handles a plus! They got warm but still okay to move the grill after heating on high. Lift handle stays cool. Nice little latch on the front keeps lid down. Not sure if when the lid is down, that the grate stays put by lid or can fall out towards lid if put on its side, will test and report back once grill is cool.
Worth the money if you have the right expectations.
Also, wife was mad that I said I'd make dinner and didn't tell her I bought a grill and had to spend time setting it up and going through the initial burn lollll. So yeah dinner came out an hour after sunset but I took one for the team and was too excited not to use it. We liked the chicken that's what's important loll.
