Can you link that deal? Also this comes to around 750 if you're eligible for the ID.ME and 12% CB… 750 to 1100 might be enough of a gap for a more casual gamer.

Good time to buy if you're in a market for a gaming desktop PC. Many good options:

12400, 1660 Super, 8 GB RAM, 256 SSD $570

This Lenovo - Specially if you can get it down to $750

Ryzen 5 5600X, 3060 Ti, 8GB RAM, 512 SSD, 800 power supply(have to downgrade this to 3060 Ti, and add 512 SSD option) I bought this, and used another 10% off deal site for final price of $815 before tax.

Ryzen 5 5600X, 3070, 8 GB RAM, 512 SSD, 800w power supply - Can get this under 1k with other deal site discount, I slightly prefer the 3060 Ti deal, as not much performance difference between 3070 and 3060 Ti)

Not a bad deal, after all discounts about $800 not including 1.5% for credit card cashback.
I already have 2 systems that have better performance.
Too much hassle to breakup and auction.
Rather decide the color of my 21 Hellcat order. Leaning to Sinamon Stick with orange calipers.

Why thread crap without posting a link to a better deal?
It is all he does, he has like the world record for most unhelpful user if you frequent the PC threads here and yet he is able to just keep going.

I'll probably be the one reprimanded by the mods though for calling him out on it.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do you hook up a monitor without a HDMI, Displayport or other video plug?

Adapters? What kind of monitor connection do you have?

Sorry, it did not list HDMI under specs and the photos of the back did not show them. I went and read the questions and answers and 3 people had asked the same thing but the Lenovo rep replied they had HDMI and posted a link to the the entire specs and said they were on the graphics cardnwhich contained 3 (I think) HDMI amd 1 usb-c. Sorry for the confusion.

The website is very confusing. I bought a killer deal of this version about 2 months ago with the 3070, and the picture did not have any HDMI. I coudnt believe it and I called tech support. The tech talked with his manager and confirmed it does not come with HDMI and needed to hook up another way. I bascially told them they are 100 percent wrong, and the website was messed up. The 3070 does have HDMI. Well when I got the computer of course it did have 3 HDMI. You would think they would fix the website.

I think I remember that deal. It was a great deal and the monitor was pretty good too. Definitely the best monitor & system deal I've seen this year. Your suggestion is also very good too, it's $1200 for a ABS and has a full 1tb ssd - which I consider it as a minimum in gaming systems nowadays since games (cod mw is 250gb, apex 70gb+, fortnite 30gb). I would have liked a 3070 instead of the 3060 at the $1300 after tax price but hopefully it'll drop to sub $1000 in the next couple of months. Personally, I'm waiting until after the 4000 series cards drop before I seriously consider the 3070ti since that's the best price for performance card rn.

As for the i7 upgrade vs the i5 in this model: If its just for gaming, you're probably not going to feel a huge performance difference between the i5-12400f vs. the i7-12700f to justify the $300 price difference. If you're planning on using more cpu intensive programs get it, but know for most of the time you're not going to use all 12 cores since most programs aren't even optimized for that. It's nice to have more cores, but whether or not it'll actually make a feasible difference is debatable.

Here are some benchmarks:

How about for graphics/video editing programs like photoshop, and premiere pro? Not heavy rendering or anything like that.

Oh that'll work well. For Graphics/Video editing programs like photoshop, resolve, premiere pro you just need a decent or even a low-end cpu but you mainly need RAM/half decent gpu and both systems mentioned will do that and more
