I don't know what a "serious device" means to you, but I definitely wouldn't say iPad (regardless of base, Air or Pro) is a serious device. iPad is definitely better in app support, especially when it comes to taking notes and creativity, but outside that I don't find iPad any more useful than a Samsung Tab S.

I have an iPad Pro and Samsung Tab S7+, and I don't find either to be my laptop replacement. Multitasking and window management are nowhere as good as Windows/Mac, and many things simply cannot be done. What's worse, Apple artificially limits what apps can do -- a "Java compiler" app cannot compile two Java files at the same time not for technical reasons but purely Apple's rules. Meanwhile I can spin up a real Ubuntu distribution on my Samsung tablet and I can achieve a lot of things with that, even though it's inconvenient.

"Samsung is still a glorified phone with a big screen" is a very unfair statement. It might be true five years ago but definitely not today. And I can easily give you a long list of apps that don't have an iPad version or the iPad app looks terrible.

The S7+ on Samsung.com are all OOS. So if your looking for a S7+ this is not that bad of a price. Yes I know people have gotten it cheaper.

I came in last year with s21 ultra and s7+ with s20 tradein for 659.

It's a good device. I just bought s8 ultra. It's a big tablet. S7+ is a good size.

ipad pro is comparable in the ios land. And that device is like 1000. If you can live with android, this is a good deal. good display, fast processor and higher refresh rate and the stylus is included for free.
