Just a quick note on this model. The top is not completely flat. We were considering this for a dorm fridge for the fall for our daughter, but it wouldn't be ideal to put a microwave on top with the curved edges. Otherwise, it's a decent fridge, and this is an excellent price for it.

Don't put things on top of your fridge, it's bad for it. It makes it work harder to keep cold because the heat escapes from the top too.

This refrigerator is the perfect size between not too big, not too small, with a nice accented shade of red and retro aesthetic.

So anything on top causes the cold to escape more? I guess it may block the heat from properly venting

If I were you I would check with the college if they allow you to bring your own microwave. I say this from personal experience since I went to two big schools and both of them would not allow microwaves in the dorms unless you rented out one of their shitty fridge/microwave combo units.

In the university I actually lived in the dorm (didn't live in the other) I hid my microwave in my closet when they came around for dorm checks lol.
