I stopped going to subway when I noticed the quality of the ingredients dropping about 6 years ago. Is that still the case, how do they compare nowadays?

because it's hard to justify a subway sandwich...

Subway is basically roach meat at a premium. Most grocery stores around me like Harris teeter and Publix offer subs and they are wayyyyyy better.
