You can only order 2 at a time, but can keep ordering over and over in multiples of 2.
For new/expired gamepass members:
You also get a free month with every 3 month redemption by leaving "turn on recurring payment" checked so it's 4 month per key. You only need 9 keys for 36mo. Once redeemed, gamepass upgrade is $1. $8.70*9+1 = $80 for 3 years of gamepass FTW
Occasionally you get an error trying to redeem with a message to change your payment. Just try again.
Convert to gamepass after you've extended Xbox Live subscription to 36 months.
Someone else (who's gamepass expired this month) did not get a $1 upgrade but a 14.99 upgrade to gamepass. It may be related to how long your gamepass was expired for prior to doing this or some other qualifier.

My expired gamepass is now valid thru 5/28/25
edit3: the $1 upgrade to gamepass may be dependent on how long yours was expired. Mine was expired since march and i got the $1 promo. Friend's was expired earlier this month and he's getting the $14.99 price to upgrade
1. Purchased 9x three month codes.
2. Went to https://account.microso
3. Once I redeemed all codes, then I went under the 'Services & subscriptions' section in my Microsoft account and above the Xbox Live subscription section there was an upgrade to game pass ultimate (GPU).
4. Clicked the option and it took me to the xbox site to buy GPU showing a discounted rate of $1 (down from $14.99).
5. Clicked through checkout and a prompt came up showing that all my xbox live gold months (up to 36) will be upgraded to GPU for $1 total. Confirmed payment method to charge $1 and voila. Next renewal 5/28/2025.
This is the way that worked for me.

Existing GPU users should let GPU membership expire, then use these codes for XBL Gold, then do the $1 GPU upgrade hack that converts all the months to GPU. In the past (a couple years ago) it didn't matter if you already had GPU, I guess they revised that.
I got a total of 9 months worth of codes. And then all of my other purchases were refunded.

Tried ordering again, did not feel good about it. And this is the message I get when I try to complete the order:
"Sorry, there's been an error processing your order. Please try disabling any ad blocker/VPN or use an alternative payment method. If using a discount code, please check its terms and conditions for correct usage."

Almost same situation. Redeemed one, when I went to redeem the others they said "Closed" on CD keys for each order. Checked emai and one order has been refunded. Sent a message to support, waiting for a reply.

Update. They refunded all 8. "Unable to process order at this time". Gave me contact info in case I want to place a bulk order...
I got the same error message. So it would not let a sale go through at the higher price. Maybe internally CD keys is tracking maximum purchases now because of some reason?
Either way, I ended up buying three at the original price, plus the added month x 3, and then I upgraded to ultimate Game pass. So I have a year of coverage until the next deal pops up about a year from now.
Someone posted a link a little far up and you can see the exact conversion depending on if it's a one month Xbox live Gold versus 3 month versus 6 month, etc.
So there is a penalty for those doing the conversion that already have active ultimate gamepass subscriptions.
