Uninsulated version fyi
does it suck because it sucks or because you don't like it? is it annoying because it's squeaky or did you mean something distinct from squeaky? at this pricepoint does it function for its intended purpose sufficiently? 94% of the 5600 reviews on amazon give it at least 3 stars (87% of which are at least 4 stars), so that would be a LOT of people who seem to disagree with you...
i was asking legitimate questions because i need a sleeping pad for upcoming trip. is that not why this forum exists - to discuss the product?? i guess you're not here for that reason.

If you want a cheap sleeping pad that works and is compact the klymit are great. If you want anything more, easy setup, extra comfort, insulation, I recommend getting something better. I have 3 klymit static v, one klymit armor, and a thermarest neo air something. In my mind the thermarest is worth the extra 4 times the cost. But this is a great start, that works.

Got a 5 out of 5 in a Camping Blog review... said some may not get used to the V-shape right away, but it enfolds you for a secure feel.

The V shaped padding took me a couple of nights until I wasn't feeling like I was falling off the side. It's all I use now, and I love it.

Can't beat this price for a pad that's light enough for backpacking. That said, I've had one for 4 years and have spent many near-sleepless nights on it. I think the main issue is that I'm a side sleeper and also was using it in situations where a insulated pad is needed, but it just was not a good fit for me.

I'm a side sleeper and find the Static V to be reasonably comfortable. But if the ground is even remotely cool (~50F), you're going to be uncomfortable all night (YMMV).

Side sleeper here looking for a light, durable sleeping pad that packs down small. You think this fits the bill?
