does it suck because it sucks or because you don't like it? is it annoying because it's squeaky or did you mean something distinct from squeaky? at this pricepoint does it function for its intended purpose sufficiently? 94% of the 5600 reviews on amazon give it at least 3 stars (87% of which are at least 4 stars), so that would be a LOT of people who seem to disagree with you...

If you like squeaky airbeds with fraudulent R ratings, go for it. It's a PITA deflating them, they make noise if you move while sleeping, and their lifecycle won't be longer than that of a foam pad.

I own one of the first static Vs it's green I think it's the V2. For the price the thing is okay. Does it work? YEA. Is it the best? NO. For the price it's just okay and it will work to sleep on. If you are doing any serious backpacking get another pad. This will work for people doing one nighters or car camping.

I believe this is non insulated so if you are camping in the cold be prepared to be really cold sleeping on this.

I find it too narrow to side sleep on this, my knees or my butt ends up off the pad. Went w/ the Luxe (Insulated) off their ebay store $60 (2nds) a few years back.

No, you were being snarky and asking rhetorical questions so start an argument.

I posted my personal experience with the pad so that buyers had the opinion of someone not praising it.

It doesn't do well in cold weather, which most places become during the evenings, even in summer as the ground saps your heat.

If you move in your sleep, it makes noise and the pressure change can be annoying. If your body aches from a day of long hiking, finding that comfortable position is damn near impossible since it's really only for back sleepers, and deflating when you're trying to tear down camp and get to trekking again is time consuming.

I wouldn't recommend it for side sleeping. I have the insulated version and used it to hike the TMB. I'm a side sleeper and was forced to sleep on my back. I was able to sleep well because the hiking was so grueling.

If you're timid about jumping in or don't care to spend as much. Amazon has Noname Chinese brands for 10-15$ all the time. I use em for the kids playpen and makes a great portable sleeping bad in a pinch.

Baffle design are not good for side sleeping. Not insulated so extremely limited to summer only. If you're car camping, there are better options. Not light so even for summer backpacking it's meh, but comes down to your budget, but foam is betters since it's more versatile as an add on accessory whether for winter or safe from puncture or to be split as sit pads. Fairly durable from my experience with their ultralight insulated models, but definitely not a buy once cry once model.

I guess I'm the odd man out here, but I'm a side sleeper and the Klymit pads work great for me. I have the insulated and non insulated and the wide version.

I have never had a problem with sliding off the pad or it squeaking.

Klymit are without a doubt the best bang for the buck pads I own, I have thermarest/sea2summit/ etc and I sleep as good on a klymit as I do on any of them.

I don't fell like I have to baby them as much either due to being 1/4th of the cost which is nice. I've even used this exact pad + a foam pad ( z-lite collapsible ) stacked on top of each other for some really cold nights to boost the rvalue.

These are ok pads, but their R of 1.1 is totally incorrect. I tried several uninsulated klymits and some insulated ones. All are much colder than competitors. If you use the uninsulated in temps below 50, you will feel the cold. Using a klymit insulated below freezing is also an error. The deep welds between the V's compress any insulating capabilities. So beware of the Temps you camp in and the pad you choose.

If you're only car camping then buy a foam roll or whatever. You probably have the space to pack it and it will certainly be more comfortable.

I use my klymit on certain flight trips where I plan on camping 1-2 nights or any backpacking trip, not my car camping.

It's plenty light enough for my use.
