Mobile Distributor Supply has the Makita DCF301Z Fan (tool only) for $114.99. Normal price appears to be $149.99 for a savings of $35. Shipping is free.
Not on old and soon to be obsoleted LXT, but on newer XGT 40V system. This is why I prefer Bosch over Makita.
I have no doubts tools made by either manufacturers will last lifetime of use, but battery will be need to be replaced, and judging by how Makita obsoleted 12V CXT, I want to stay safe with Bosch.

You should try Ryobi, they've had the same battery platform for decades.

I'm fairly well invested in their LXT/18v system though. Have a couple of drills, several impacts, grinder, a couple of skill saws, a couple of Sawzalls, a couple of yard tools etc etc. They (to the best of my knowledge) were the first ones to offer hand tools with lithium ion batteries. Started buying their stuff around 2007. Cordless Milwaukee wasn't even a thing back then and Dewalt was still on Nicad.
Weather here is just getting too hot to wait for Bosch's offerings on its fan... Since I rarely use power tools with 6 LXT batteries collecting dust, maybe this fan will provide some useful information on battery quality.
According to it's website, they will take 10% off for new members, but it's not working.
I wish this deal will go through so that I have some ways too cool off.

I tried Ryobi, how many times I fool myself that this time will be different.
I bought Ryobi fan last year, and used it with Makita-Ryobi adapter. If Ryobi is working still, I wouldn't be wasting my time looking for another fan. Ryobi ran for about 10 times, motor burnt. No surprise here, and my nightmare with Ryobi junk isn't getting any better. I'm too well experienced with Ryobi customer service, didn't even bother for warranty claim. I was amazed
to see Ryobi uses ultra cheap plastic screws on places subject to high vibration, and I just laughed at myself for being sucked into Ryobi lies.
I'm highly conscious of environmental issue, do my best to reduce it. I never order drinks at McDonald's, never buy any disposable plastic items, always wash and reuse ziplock bags until Scotch tapes no longer holds leaks, all that goddam effort become worthless by one farking Ryobi fan.
