You can absolutely remove tiles from the middle of a RaceDeck floor using a putty knife. Landscaping fabric underneath the tile addresses the sound.

As someone who have used both, I will tell you why I will never go back to epoxy. I have Racedeck but it's the same principle.

1. You can setup the tiles in an hour. Epoxy takes a while.
2. No need to deal with chemicals and fumes.
3. Epoxy has a chance of lifting when you park hot tires on the same spot over time.
4. If you don't wash and etch the concrete correctly, you will have adhesion problems. Doesn't matter to tiles. Just sweep it before laying.
5. If you move, you can take the tiles with you. Huge plus!
6. If your garage has grooves on the floor between each section of the concrete, using a mechanic creeper on the floor catches every time. Tiles does away with this.
7. If you damage a tile, you can simply replace that one tile.
8. It looks a lot better especially if you design it nicely. You can find a virtual designer on racedeck's site.
9. Dropping things on tile will generally not damage your item...especially glass. It won't likely shatter.
10. Very chemical resistant. I have sprayed brake and carb cleaner on it without any damage.
11. It feels softer when you walk on it because it absorbs some of the impact.
12. Sweeps easier because things don't fall into the concrete grooves.

These are just the ones on top of my head. There are more I'm sure.

15 is 720sqft and plenty for a single or double garage. Average 2 car garage is 24x20 and would only need 10 boxes. You need an 3-4 car garage to ever require more than 15 boxes.

How do you keep the floor under the tile clean? That's what holds me back from doing this.

Has anyone used the self draining one? If they work as I think, It would be nice if dirt, water, and snow fall down on the floor, thus you are not stepping on it. I would like to know if that is indeed the case.
After researching the cost and labor to epoxy my garage floor properly, I got the self draining on sale from Costco last year. Dirt, water and snow will be no problem. Install was easy and looks great (no marks of any kind from tires).

I have garage grips carpeting down in my garage. It looks ok, but never really lays flat. I'm thinking about putting this over top. Not sure if that's a great idea. I had my last garage professional epoxied, but the cost was crazy for a 3 car garage. Wish I would have paid for the epoxy.

I've had both -- proper epoxy flooring is superior in almost every way. You clearly do not have any heavy duty vehicles or work on any of your cars. This tile flooring is for the birds who just roll into their garage and never do anything else.

There is a reason why most people go with epoxy. Epoxy has:
  • Stain and chemical resistance
  • No tile shift under any conditions
  • A hard, reliable surface if you use any jacks and jackstands
    • These plastic tiles compress and are unsafe
  • Smoothness (try rolling a large jack over these textured surfaces)
  • UV resistance
  • Tensile strength
  • etc.

The only thing the "modular flooring" has over epoxy, as you said, is that you can be a complete miser and "take the flooring with you" when you move. Applause

These flex enough to where small elevation changes won't matter. What does matter is if these elevation changes angle towards the center. Good luck getting liquid out of the center of the tiles once they collect there.

Would this work as gym flooring for my garage?
Wondering the same thing. Is there any difference from the stuff used for gym mats and this?

You seem to think a lot of people work on their cars. We don't.

Don't think you can conclude that based on the dude's post. There was no claim as to what percentage of the population works on their cars.

Anyway here's my contribution to the thread. Black and white tiles are hideous looking.

Literally three quarters of his points relate to working on cars...

I already have garage surface treated but it gets dirty with tires especially in summer heat. Can these tiles be used to make tire track for the cars so all the care tores stay on tiles and not mark garage. Does it move around easily. May not look a esthetically nice but I m fine with it

Floor tiles in the garage? What's next, a bidet in the man cave? Y'all are watching to many ads / marketing impressions. No wonder you can't get on satisfaction.

I currently have horse stall mats on my garage floor but it is too soft to allow my motorcycle dolly to move across it. Anyone know if this stuff is harder to allow me to be able to move my motorcycle around on the dolly?

No, if you don't cover the whole area it won't stay in place. It needs an anchor.
