Why does it look like $33 should be the actual retail price for that kit…? 😅

What's wrong with hanging a 2x4 on the wall and putting some nails in it for hangers? Total cost a few dollars.

anyone using this. How is this compared to Rubbermaid FastTrack garage rail system?

Works great for yard tools and typical household items. Worth the cost to me. If you want to hang more specialized stuff like bikes then go with other systems, but then again, you can be creative and make it work with the Hart if you don't want to get specialized hooks from the FT system.

A box of nails and a 2x4 will run you $10+. This is more aesthetically pleasing and you are bound to get snagged on a nail sticking out of the wall.

It's been on clearance for quite some time. It's a much better system (quality and versatility/options)… but in my opinion, it's only worth getting if you plan to add onto the system, which can get pricey.
The Hart branded set is more of a one and done for a person who needs a minimal and cheap setup. It's good quality for the price and allows you to have a decent amount of adjustable hooks.
I myself have the gladiator garage setup inside my garage and love it. Its clean looking and goes great for everything I need. It gets super pricey though, so I think I'm getting the Hart setup for the shed.

Retail price seems high unless this is mislabeled. Basically same price elsewhere.

Still trying to decide between this, Rubbermaid, Newage, and Gladiator. Can you use the accessories between them?

Accessories Do Not match up between all those. Everyone will have a different opinion regarding them all. I myself think Gladiator is hands down the best out there. Looks the nicest and has many options. Only down size is you gotta catch everyone when it's on sale to get the biggest bang for your buck.

That's what I do and I buy hardware on sale to use as hangers. It's a garage not a fashion show. :-)

I'm doing exactly this. Now I'm in FL, block garage. So I'm tap-conning 2x4 to the walls, gives it about a 2k lb per sq inch capacity as opposed to the 250 here. Then I buy hooks on amazon, can get a box of the big ones for 10-15. with 2x4 and 2x6, you're essentially mounting actual stringers instead of these 'whatevers'.

These may look sexy but they're not going to age well, IMO.

I just compared the two starter kits. Looks like you get much more for your buck going with the HART starter kit. More rails and hooks included. As far as versatility and functionality though, I'm not sure. I myself will pull the trigger on the HART kit and see where it takes me.
