Have to consider price. There's no chance of a 4k 120 2.1 hdmi monitor for $200 for years

Didn't notice until you pointed it out

Seems like a good deal - have used this company's 34" ultrawide 1440p for ~2 years with no issues.. which is now above my new 43" monitor lol can't get enough screens

Is this worth it modern day? 27 1440p? I'm guessing by 5K series NVidia cards 4K resolution and 2.1 HDMI will be more common.

It all depends on what card you buy. If you're going to front $700+ on the graphics card (probably close to $1000) then get a 4K monitor if not stick for qHD as it shows a big improvement from 1080p with great performance on sub $700 cards (3070).

The difference between qhd and 4K isn't thaaaaat noticeable in a game on a 27 inch monitor.

Best of both worlds

Also consider in reviews and specs how much input lag the monitor has for each refresh rate. Some 144hz, 240hz etc have really bad 60hz input latency which impacts a lot of console players.

you need at least 32 inch to see details of 4k. On my 40 inch details are great, just change zoom level and you get an immersive experience, especially FC6 HD textures, it is crisp clear (My 12GB VRAM wasn't enough)

I have the 27" Acer KA272U [amazon.com] and love it for office work. Does anyone know, other than the difference in refresh rate, what is the biggest difference between the two monitors? I am debating if I should get a second Acer KA272U or try this one out since they are the same price. Thanks in advance!

4k at 27 inches is kinda dumb, native text is so small and scaling generally sucks. Minor visual improvement over 1440p but at a significant performance penalty. Sure it's better for media consumption but for gaming, going past 1440p at this size is just pointless, like hdmi 2.1 would be on this display. Especially since comparable 4k monitors start around 3 times this much.

1440p 144hz is the sweet spot right now, that's why there's so much competition.
And this monitor hits all the boxes, even above average brightness which is the REALLY rare thing in value monitors.

I never said 4K at 27" but rather 4K monitor in general (any respective size that relates). Be that 32, 34 or even 40".

This panel is much brighter, almost certainly has better colors, and I believe it would make a superior primary panel with the acer as a secondary.
