Is this still the best ssd performance and reliability wise in town? I see these days folks suggest Adata a lot?

Adata for $205 at Amazon right now, I missed the $185 deal last week from Adata via eBay. Purely specs wise the adata one seems better, brand name wise WD is more reputable. With the sabrent heat sink at $15 for the one specifically for PS5, I think the $220 with adata is better than this WD deal.

Agreed, especially for use in the PS5 - the WD is probably a better drive but no one is going to notice the difference in this use case and it's basically a wasted $100. If you're using it long-term in a PC, maybe a bit different.

For PC get the WD all day long. For PS5 whichever is cheaper as you will probably never notice the difference. Don't be fooled by adata specs. Like everyone they game the system.

Why is WD preferred for PC? Sorry I'm still learning SSD world and picking up tidbits from knowledgeable folks like you.

I have had both Adata and WD. The WD were better and more reputable. Adata switched components mid stream and nerfed performance without telling anybody. The SN850 really shines in a windows environment. PS5 is totally different and you won't notice the WD advantage in real life feel. It's response to random reads is noticeable over other SSDs. PS5 doesn't work the same way as a PC.

If anything both are fast in reads where you will notice it. Maybe 1-2 seconds on games loading between the two.
