wow! did the pandemic affect prices that much?? i got the 2395 on sale for $99 at best buy in jan 2020 and that was new, not refurb. now it's $219 new and refurb is $175!

I'm also curious about laster printer prices, are they much higher recently due to the supply chain issues? It seems like the original msrp were originally much lower than current prices for laser printers. I was thinking about buying a laser printer but may hold off if the prices are related to the supply chain.

Never had a laser printer but every inkjet printer I've ever had (it's a bunch) has lasted about 3 years or less. Is it the same deal with laser printers?

...If it is then just plan on paying $99 for 2 years or less. (Knock a year of because it's a refurb.)

Crazy how the black and white ones used to be ~$60 new. Now closer to $100...refurbished?!

I don't know about their current quality, but our Brother HL-2140 from about 2010 is still going pretty strong. I did have to replace the drum once a few years back when the print quality started to go bad, and the toner a maybe about five times so far. Currently its hooked up to a mini router running OpenWrt as wireless print server. Actually sort of waiting for it to eventually die someday so I have an excuse to buy a color laser.
