That said, this is fine for $99 and if someone is just screwing stuff in or drilling a couple holes a year then I can see brushless not mattering. Just depends on use case.
For me, the CLPK27-120 [amazon.com] kit, which includes the same PS41 impact but the PS21 pocket driver (1/4" hex) instead of the PS31 drill (with 3/8" chuck) is $109.00, but there is a $20 at-checkout coupon for $89 total. I don't know whether the $20 coupon is targeted. You wouldn't want a pocket driver as your only drill, but it's spectacular as a sibling.

However, I do regret buying into the Bosch ecosystem and should have went Ryobi instead. The Bosch 12v line doesn't have that many tools, so when I needed a circular saw or nailer there were no options but corded or buy into another battery system. Yeah, these 12v tools are lighter and easier to use, but for very occasional use I wouldn't have minded if they're bigger and heavier.
I have DeWalts flagship drill, it's awful for putting together furniture. It's way too big and heavy which is what I was afraid of. These small drills do just as good of job for driving in fasteners or drilling small holes. If you're doing something big like a large spade bit, then thats when your big drill comes in handy. Otherwise this style is best for day-to-day use.

Kind of on the fence. I already have the Ryobi brushless compact drill and driver. But they look pretty big compared to these, and I'm not impressed with the impact drivers performance.

Significantly more powerful impact, 1/2" drill chuck (vs. Bosch's 3/8"), hammer-drill functionality, and a 4.0Ah battery. Plus a far larger ecosystem for future additions like an inflator or stubby.
I do prefer how the Bosch tools feel in my hand, which I assume is because their batteries are rotated 60 degrees vs. Milwaukee's.
My electrician used a PS41 to tighten breaker screws because its body is all plastic and because it was weak.

At that sale price I would definitely go with Milwaukee. For $100 you get into the ecosystem at a reasonable price. You can then purchase additional tools as you need them.

Agreed. I am strongly considering purchasing this set, even though I have an existing set of Craftsman 12V tools that are getting long in the tooth.
