I bought this a while back and decided to return it. The distance is inconsistent and makes it nearly impossible for little kids to use.

Bought this for my 8 year old and was actually impressed on how well it worked. It's not perfect, but still highly recommend. Only about 50% of the balls go over the plate, but still teaches great eye hand coordination. He uses it in the garage because any breeze sends the light plastic balls off course. Not a huge price savings as it typically goes for just under $30

Bought this for my 8 year old and was actually impressed on how well it worked. It's not perfect, but still highly recommend. Only about 50% of the balls go over the plate, but still teaches great eye hand coordination. He uses it in the garage because any breeze sends the light plastic balls off course. 6x1.5v=9 volts so you could rig a 9v adapter to it, especially if you have one laying around.

I've done it with other things; cut off the adapter tip, strip the wire, tie it to +- terminals of battery compartment.

you can also try without any cutting; get two wires, insert one in the tip (+), tie other one around the outside (-), tape it... then connect to device.

edit: it uses 4 D batteries, not 6, so 6v adapter

These should make it quite a bit easier. A few moments with a soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing and you should be good to go.

I rigged mine directly to the house's 120v outlet and this thing throws rockets at 85 mph. My 5 year old is already attracting the attention of scouts at the Little League games from practicing with this. Highly recommend.
