I don't know if it still is the case, but I seem to remember it being said that you're better off going with the GOG versions. Don't remember if it was because they're more moddable/more like the original edition or what though. Also, yes, these games were amazing to play online. Especially the custom content for Dark Forces 2 and Jedi Outcast.

edit: unfortunately, it seems like there isn't a comparable bundle on GOG. Without a sale, they're easily probably $5 each.

Yes, they are legit. We have promoted this deal to the FrontPage before with no members reporting issues. Also, per product page, they are an "Authorized Vendor, the Games come directly from the game's official publisher".

They don't, but it's hard for me to get over the graphics. Back then it was great playing these kinds of games because that's what we were used to, but now I have a hard time going back to the oldies.

I remember playing Jedi Knight on my 486 and then upgrading to an AMD k62 w 4 mb onboard graphics. Amazing FPS and resolution difference. And then when they added the colored lighting in MOTS it felt groundbreaking to me. Don't get me started on the original dark forces or tie fighter DOS days. But yes, I'll let those memories remain rose tinted.

I remember downloading the demo of Jedi knight outcast and playing that one level 1000 times cause my parents wouldn't spend money on something like that... Pushing down and right while swinging the saber gave a sweeping move, pushing jump and attack at the right timing let you jump into a flip and slash at the head of the opponent. The best thing about the games? In most difficulties, hitting someone with a saber cut them in half and killed them. Seeing the Jedi strike enemies over and over and not cut them in half in other games bothered the heck out of me, force unleashed....

edit: oh yes, it mattered what sword style you were in to do different moves...
