Great machine. I own the 10w. (other companies advertise by input wattage not optical power. so to compare it would be about 65w). 5w approx 40w

Can engrave glass, acrylic, wood, ceramic basically anything. cutting wood I recommend getting the honeycomb bed and air assist. If anyone has a 3d printer I can give u the file to print an Air assist mount. Air assist just helps u cut cleaner and deeper.

let me know if u have any questions =) im more a 3d printing expert but I have the laser like I said (it has built in wifi too)

"COMGO Z1"

It's pretty bad when you misspell your own company name...on your own product...on your own website...

EDIT: Disregard, I'm an idiot. As Myst3ryx has pointed out below, that's the actual product name.

What software does this use?

The last Comgrow laser I purchased only supports no name Chinese software and the results are disappointing.

It advertised true greyscale engraving via PWM but the control board doesn't actually produce accurate results.

No way to flash the board with GRBL firmware either, so it's basically only good for vector cutting and simple engraving until I buy a different board.

Don't think it's a misspelling, that's the actual product name

Thanks for sharing. @MichaelS1210 I am looking for an engraver and a cutter for personal use /hobby. I've read that 10w does a better job with the cutting as it has a sharper and dense focus point to get a clean cut on various item types compared to 5w. What has been your experience with the 10w? There is no deal or discount on the 10w model while 5w has a tempting offer.

The 10w is indeed better for cutting. But cutting also requires the object to be lifted to get a clean cut all the way through. The honeycomb bed helps with that. So does air assist to blow debris out of the way so you're cutting not burning. However with any diode laser you're limited to just a few millimeters, the deeper you cut the more out of focus the laser will be. It's still the best diode laser out there. And co2 lasers have major drawbacks. Just don't expect to cut 20mm of acrylic in one pass :p

For anyone with this laser can you engrave on pieces longer than the machine. I know the engraver dimensions is 15.75 x 15.75 but can I engrave an image that size on a piece that is about 24x 24
