I have this trimmer, replacing string is pretty straight forward and doesn't even require disassembly… you thread the line through the head, pull excess string (half of the total needed with the other half sticking out the side where the supply is. Cut from the supply, and the head ratchets feeding and winding the string on to the spool wash time you turn the head with your hand.

That would be nice. It was the cheapest I found, new that was under $150. It is not the $100 season, I was trying to save people a step.

I get it. We aren't all waiting for a rock bottom deal. Sometimes you need something and want the best price at the time. Thanks for sharing.

Regarding the following post about replacement heads, I've found the OEM string very durable. When the time comes to restring, it's a pretty easy process of turning the head to wind the string.

Solid trimmer. Plenty of power. I like the folding design. I feel like a slick deal is under $100 though.

if you dread string line issues pick up some of these which work on the regular 20v dewalt straight shaft and probably this one too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133384081636

string last a good amount of time and when its empty you replace the whole head - like 5 min. feeds great. I think they are all made by the same seller, same picture on many ads.

If you have a WILCO store close by (primarily in OR and WA), they should be having their "up to 50% off" Dewalt sale again in a week or so. Last year they had this string trimmer for $99. I'm hoping they'll have some similar good deals this year. Their ad will be posted here (they show the old one until the new one is posted): LINK [farmstore.com]

One critical piece of advice. Put the handle on the lower half. Terrible balance per instructions.

.
You forgot the nail or small Phillips screwdriver that is the biggest pain to keep it in there while winding the string that takes two hands to keep it tight.

It is a decent deal and here is why.

For the majority of the USA, FasternersInc does not charge sales tax.

That said, there could be some decent deals coming for Father's Day, such as with a battery worth about $10/amp, I doubt if net will be $10 difference. The only issue with this tool is that for some people, the handle needs to be right where that hinge is to balance. The fix is a shoulder strap like most of the gas versions have.

From the listing, I'm not sure of everything about this product.

Are those three disposable heads, so string runs out, throw the whole thing away; or is this three reusable string heads, not sure why I need three reusable heads?

I like the trimmer, the only problem is it is not well balanced, it is front heavy but with the powerful motor, you will get the job done quicker.

For all wanting a $100 trimmer, I am seeing a $10 coupon applicable to the OP's listed price, seems like that gets close to "spitting distance" on this item - can always consider it like "horseshoes & hand-grenades," where "almost" counts Wink

Thanks OP, great price, thanks for posting! Smilie

the coupon code they send 2022FASTENERS10 isn't valid on this product.
