Likewise. I would love to drop Xfinity monopoly in my area Frown It seems like a calculated move by these providers in our neighborhoods, you only get one with the higher speed offering.

That's pretty f'ed up. Not the case here because they do have other services for us. Every time I called to inquire about their fiber service, they would offer me their DSL service instead for $45/month. Each time I declined and told them why would I pay $45/month for their DSL service knowing my neighbors across the street could get fiber service for just a few bucks more. As much as I hate my cable service, now I hate AT&T more.

Yes, it appears recent, as it was earlier not there only for 1G and above plans.

Regarding your post about possible future deals, we just need to wait and see.
I don't see that, the lawyer text says "1TB data/mo". Btw, I only get 50Mbps, no fiber!

Take a screenshot of all of the coupons applied when you check out.

I used this deal and they only gave me half of the rebates til I called, complained, and showed them the screenshot. They couldn't even give me it all as a rebate and instead credited my account. Not sure why, but I think sometimes deals get approved by one part of the company and they don't bother telling the other departments how to pay them out. Oh well. I got everything I was owed at least.
You called the wrong people. The rebate company won't even ask for proof as long as you know what promos it should have been.

Respectfully, nope, I definitely called all the relevant folks.

But I did misspeak in the original post. It was not a rebate but the visa gift cards they promised. No one would even talk to me about it at the place that dispenses the cards, then I spoke to two different departments at AT&T, one of whom said I needed to talk to another department, routed me there, then the second said they had no record of the code I used, but couldn't refute that it definitely had been in the system since it had gone through. So they credited my account that amount. 🤷

Just trying to help some peeps out by saying to get a screenshot, no need to try to diagnose the issue.

Since the upload speed is almost the same as the download speed in fiber internet, what is the benefit of the upload speed? Does it make streaming better with that upload speed?

Does anyone know if they give you a different router if you get 300 vs 1gig?

I don't know what they will give you, but both of those speeds are compatible with the same equipment. Thus, for example, if a customer is on Fiber 300 and upgrades to Fiber 1000 it's simply a bandwidth shaping push to the CO-side of the equipment. The customer does not need anything different.

My sister got 1gbs plan and her speed is around 500mbps
I'm on Fiber 500 plan. I'm seeing it overprovisioned at around 620Mbps, both up and down. Sometimes, to a couple of sites, I'm getting a weird glitch that me 950Mbps down.

If the speed you quote is over WiFi, then it's about right and actually fairly good. If hardwired, something else is wrong.

Anyone know how long it takes to receive the GC?

For me it took one month from installation day to get cards in mail. I had to call once because they denied cards for random reasons. (This 'glitch' seems to be common)

It's great for backing up to a cloud drive. I have 1TB of storage on One Drive. Share 2TB of storage on iCloud.

Whenever ATT sees potential customers in your neighborhood. If you can't do what the crazy people are doing(moving across state lines or changing careers) just for the addicting speeds - Well, you can get a couple of your neighbors to contact/request and it will get a provider's attention. Remember the first sentence I wrote. Key.
One of my friends did this. Took the signature of most of his neighbors was like 75 homes and the approval of the HOA. They did it tho.

Not anymore. Ended 6/5.

This promotion ended for AT&T Fiber on June 5, 2022. You must use your access to HBO Max to keep your eligibility for this promotion. If you don't, your HBO Max promotion may be expired.

Oh that sucks. I stand corrected. Does that mean at some point those who have free HBO Max with the 1 Gbps plan will lose access to it?
