Sorry not sure how to add multiple responses but did reach out and you can see ebays response in another comment. I urge anyone to do the same.

If anyone is curious what I did I went to the contact us on the email, went to Account β€”> "Seller levels and performance standards" β€”>"seller performance policy" then at the bottom was "contact us". eBay makes it hard to find the chat. They should not be able to cancel it and blame "the buyer" for canceling it.

If I sold something on eBay and decided I wanted more money for it I would be out of luck and have to uphold my end of the bargain. Hate when this happens.

Why are y'all upset cause you couldn't get essentially free slides πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ it was an error and they don't have to fulfill just because you ordered. FYI i did order as well.
Yeah if you posted something on eBay and decided you wanted more money for it and put the reason for cancel as "buyer requested it" you know you'd be banned in a heartbeat. It's the reason that set me off saying that I requested the cancellation when I did no such thing.

Why? Because they are morons probably giving $25 vs a 25% discount. Second, their incompetence wastes everyone's time. Third, to lie and blame the buyer for cancelling, is insulting. I'll hold off on #'s 4 and 5.

If they just cancelled and didn't lie about the reason saying that the "Buyer asked to cancel" in order to avoid negative feedback, I wouldn't have cared. But expressly lying and trying to game the system to avoid negative feedback, I will be pissed and report the seller.

Use that link to "Report an issue with a seller" and say that they violated eBay policies by lying about the reason for the cancellation. Since they marked that the "Buyer asked to cancel" the order, we can't leave negative feedback otherwise.

Maybe they went about it wrong, but it's thousands of orders and maybe that's the fastest way to fix their problem. You make it seem like if you sold on Ebay and even 20 people essentially robbed you, you wouldn't get panic and try to cancel the orders. Welcome to reality.
Sure they went about it wrong and that's what I have the problem with. If they would have said deal posted by mistake that would have been more honorable. Of course we all knew we were getting a great deal but you can't say it's a price mistake when this deal is applied to several different variations of shoes, it was posted with the intention of selling these shoes at this price. What they didn't account for was the popularity of the deal and to try and point the finger at us because we accepted it is unethical to say the least.

What im saying is you made your bed now lie in it or at the very least own up to it. They can put stock limits on purchases so if a deal is more popular than they anticipated then it shows out of stock when they hit their limit.

It's just dumb and poor ethics to lie with impunity TO THE PERSON who knows best you are lying.

No way it is a million orders, they turned off the tap way before that. Given that Slickdeals was probably the most orders for this, maybe 75%, I would say MAYBE a few thousand orders at most.

If they honor it, they might lose a few thousand dollars and that money would be put towards not getting negative feedback so it would be a good investment.
Didn't you see the stats on how many were sold in 24 hours? I only checked 4 or 5 of them but all of them were at 100k+

I ordered at 11:34pm and still haven't been canceled, but haven't sent an update as to when it ships either. I have noticed a few of mine did get bumped a week later than the others.

I went ahead and left them negative feedback before they got a chance. Although I think it will remove the feedback anyways b/c eBay sucks now.

As shoppers, they definitely have reasons to be upset. Shoppers spent valuable time buying and when you get unethical customer service from the seller (i.e. false cancellation), it lets the shoppers down from their loyal brand.

Browsing and choosing the right color and sizing can be time consuming not to mention checking out and sending the payment as well as anticipating to receive your order.

If you are not bothered by it, that's fine but have consideration for your fellow SD'ers. You are a member here to get deals so don't make sneering comments.

Ebay has evolved to be a marketplace which collects fees for that marketplace exchange. Up until 5 yrs ago, you'd buy from some individual or mom and pop store who didn't have the means to start their own website. ebay was the place to sell.

since then, just about any fortune 500 with merchandise to sell, is able to sell directly. Ebay courted these companies b/c they realized the fees amount to millions per year in revenue. so when mistakes like this happen, they understand it was the mistake of 1 programmer who put a $ instead of a % sign and remove the negative feedback as they come in.
