Lol timings on EVERY ddr5 I've seen in stock are slower than your average ddr4 stick when you actually calculate the cas latency
For example the latest deal on ddr5 laptop ram is 4800 cl 38 which take 15.83 seconds to perform
Ddr4 3200 cl16 only takes 10 ns
Don't buy into the hype. Ddr5 isn't the buying point until those timings get better.
If you're looking at this, chances are you'll have a new laptop by then anyway
When comes to laptop memory the latency is almost the same, 90ns something vs 93ns something
It is true ddr4 is better on desktop, but for laptop at this moment ddr5 is slightly better, not to mention ddr5 will be improved soon.

Where did you get these fuzzy numbers and what "laptop" memory are you using as if there is only one timing to compare?
I've not seen anything that indicates a difference in calculating latency desktop vs laptop.
Please enlighten me on how you got to those "something" numbers
