Grease drizzling from your processed food? Great alternative. Here is an idea. Don't give them anything at all or make something healthy. Grease and processed foods are not one an option for health lol

There are some things we prepare in our food which is not healthy for a canine.

Onion for example is quite harmful.

That being said, I usually do but my dog has a cast iron stomach and Klingon organs.

How did the pet food industry pull a fast one on everyone thinking this was something you needed? Just give them home made leftover drizzling of food cooked... Better than these chemicals.

I have been wondering what the function of toppings like this is.

Is there a nutritional benefit to this or is it more to soften the food and get them to eat it?

Currently using PPP 30/20 Duck/Turkey/Quail as the food.

I make my own chicken broth from leftover bones, boil them in a pan for about 1.5 hrs then let it cool for a bit and finally freeze then in ice cubes. I microwave one ice cube and mix with kibbles. All good.

Good point onions are Quite harmful for dogs: "Consuming onions can lead to dogs developing a condition called hemolytic anemia. This condition impacts/destroys a dog's red blood cells, leaving dogs without enough of them for healthy functioning. Severe onion poisoning in dogs can be fatal."

I don't know where you got processed, greased foods from my statement. I'm not a vet. Do your own research on what's best for your pets.

Our dog tends to not eat for the first couple days at a dog kennel. Toppings like this can serve as an enticer to get the little bugger to eat and stop worrying about where the humans that he lives with, went.

You can simply purchase a 10lb tub of granulated chicken and/or beef granules to make broth. Hundreds, if not thousands of gallons worth. Too much sodium? They're dogs! 1/2 it. 1/4 it. 1/8 or 1/16 the amount. Dogs dont care. They'll just taste and love it.

Or...... this is slickdeals. Just buy whatever the staff posts and promotes like a good little sheep.
