Slightly worse in benchmarks, but you'd never notice real world.

Spot on. Plus one gets a backup GPU in case of failure and the GPU built in is actually pretty capable.

Isn't this the cheapest this has been? I've seen this 180-200 the past few weeks. Lots of people here rave about it.

Annoying that they don't do price matches. Did a refund and reordered. Thanks OP

Neat, still cheaper with mobo at microcenter if you have one nearby. But I think this is the cheapest this has been otherwise

I bought it for $170 a week or so ago at Newegg and that was the cheapest I could find. Another $15 off for a combo with a ASRock b550 full ATX motherboard. I assume most or all of the $15 combo discount was really coming off the $100 motherboard price. In any case, cpu + included cooler + mobo was $255. I had all the other parts except a 4tb NVMe ssd I am using as boot drive. ASRock includes overclocking app; I haven't tried it.
I believe AMD nextgen (zen 4) desktop cpus are expected end of he summer, so maybe they are dropping price to clear way for those.

I think the GPU market is a factor now.. Cheaper graphics cards and PCIe 4 support or rather lack of of i on this CPU come to mind. Price is moving in the right direction, but folks will be quickly moving to DDR5 and PCIe 4 quickly.. The Intel chips are something others are placing their bets on..

If you are upgrading your older Ryzen system and want to take that grapics card with you on your new build, but still want to reuse your old MB, Ram and HD, all you would need is a CPU that has a GPU built in it and the 5600G is a good choice.

If you are starting your build from scratch, you might want to compare the Intel VS AMD offerings as the new lga1700 Intel chips are well recieved. and can use the most current hardware offerings ensuring future compatibility.

For gaming, very large I would think depending on your gpu, for workload probably not much.

Bought this APU during last frontpage sale; upgraded from a 3400G 4-core.
Made sure to install latest drivers and optimum bios settings. Using same Corsair 3600MHz DDR4, running at 1.30Volts

I'm returning it because it is not any faster than the previous 3400G Zen+ generation. Playing a few games or have 20+ tabs open. 5600G boots smooth, runs smooth, but no evidence the 50% extra cores and 36%faster Hz translate to real-world performance.

Big enough. 25+ percent in most benchmarks I believe. Plus you cut 1/3 of power usage
