For those that need SMR pen for digital painting/drawing and couldn't stand the inaccurate and laggy AES/MPP. Thin and light with decent build quality. The memory module is soldered on, so 16GB+1TB is a better investment.
There's a comparison video showing pen/stylus improvements over last year model:

The red/purple color Burgundy has the most edu discount of $310.

Following trends, this model will likely be about $650 by April 2023. I buy all my tech end-of-cycle for this reason.
I have various Surface devices and several of these OLED Galaxy Books. I always grab the OLEDs as I find that I am going to scale Windows bigger anyways. As far as PPI, I can't agree that 1080 is too pixelated for a 13" and barely so for a 15". It has been the standard for years.
There was also an instant rebate of $200 on 5/12, bringing it down to $1,079.99. While the laptop wasn't available to order at the moment, Samsung honored the price match and refunded my order the difference.
There are quite a few thin/light laptops available, e.g. LG Gram, ... But if SMR pen/stylus is important, there isn't a lot of good options out there.

Strangely, I was able to order the Burgundy for 1079.99. It first appeared OOS but when I went back to cart later with another laptop, a backorder date showed up.
- 15.6" not is not too big to see the pixels
- it has a thin battery with thin cooling, driving higher resolution will only result in more heat and shorter battery life
- s-pen for drawing/painting/note-taking is an important selling point. Higher resolutions will also introduce more lag, affecting the natural feel of writing/drawing on the screen. See the difference: https://youtu.be/m8nzetTvl5A?t=6
