I always consider these offers, but wish they did "ship to store". I like my little Mail lady and not trying to to have her hoist boxes that weigh more than her

I bought the 5-lb slickdeal in December 2021 and immediately scrubbed them with several cleaning products to try to get rid of the smell, which could fill a room. All these months later there is STILL a strong odor. I have to wash my hands after using them (yes, I still use them, but I hate myself for it). What on Earth is in that coating?

I ended up dipping them in a bucket of soapy water (a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid in quarter bucket of luke warm water) for about 15 minutes on either side. Water level was about an inch over the bottom rubber piece when one side of dumbbell was placed in it vertically. Then rinse thoroughly. Repeated for 3 or 4 days or so. Still smells a bit, but at least I can store it in the garage now. Before the procedure above, I tried all sorts of chemicals and wipes. Nothing worked. I couldn't even place them in a 2 car garage as the smell was so overpowering.

I have from 2 to 40 from a set I bought from Costco. Wallmart has pretty much been the only place I can find heavy pairs; so far 45, 55, 60 (just bought 60's today) 95 and 105. COVID has made it difficult to get them.

Just FYI — All dumbbell sets are $1 per pound. I suppose that is not a bad price for a coated hex dumbbell in a post-Covid, hyperinflation world. My rule of thumb pre-2020 was that 50 cents per pound was a "deal" —but now I suppose 75 cents per pound would be the new "pull the trigger " number.

.50 was the deal price pre COVID. Now it is hard to even find the larger pairs.

FWIW a pair of 25 lb rubberized hex dumbbells like these are very versatile. The rubber coating and stability from the hex shape allow you to perform pushup-based movements that just don't work as well with anything else. I have steel Ironmaster adjustables up to 135 lbs, but still use my 25 lb rubber coated dumbbells for pushup rows, pushups with lateral raises, pushup walks, etc.
