Dont it just figure.. I just renewed my plus membership 1 week ago and concidering they closed all but 2 stores in MN. It is really hard to get there any way.

I said to myself I would give it 1 more year and see how often I get near a store, Arg.. I wonder if I can get a refund of the membership..

Below are full terms from email. I'm annoyed as they're not allowing existing purchases to run the full course for meeting ink recycling before the new minimum purchase takes affect as I just purchased ink last week above $30 and would have gotten instead the larger size to meet the new minimum as it's now saying I need to purchase $15 more to be eligible to recycle.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for being a Staples® Plus member. We would like to inform you of the updated Terms and Conditions, which are coming to the Ink & Toner Recycling program beginning on June 2, 2022 (view updated Staples Rewards Terms here). The minimum spend requirement for earning ink recycling will change from $30 to $50.



The Ink & Toner Recycling program terms and conditions include the following: Each Member is eligible to receive Ink and Toner Recycling Rewards ("Recycling Rewards") on ink and toner recycling, as described below, performed at Staples U.S. stores or online at staples.com/rewards, if the Member has spent at least $50 in ink and/or toner purchases at Staples over the previous 180 days. Ink and/or toner purchases made on the date of recycling are included toward minimum purchase requirement. Coupons, taxes, rewards redemptions, and shipping charges do not count towards the $50 minimum purchase requirement. Ink + Toner Resellers and remanufacturers, including companies or individuals that purchase goods with the intention of selling the goods to a third party, are strictly prohibited from earning and redeeming Ink and Toner Rewards. Limit of 20 ink or toner cartridges can be recycled per month.

supposedly it starts june 2, so you should be good for 180 days at least

That's exactly what should have happened but I just clarified with Staples Rewards rep that starting June 2, if you didn't currently have at least the new $50 spend, you'll need to purchase the difference in order to continue qualifying for June and moving forward rather than allowing the initial $30 qualified spend to last the remaining 180 days that it had originally qualified for.

It changed on Jun 2, however, they didn't even count my 6/1 - 20 ink recycled. what a shame and didn't send policy change first and ignore my 6/1's recycle qty

Dang glad I looked. I see I have to spend 20$ more for June. What shady nonsense they pulled here. Not even a heads up in changing their terms. Mad

That's because they "value and appreciate your business."

So much so that they're demanding that you spend more, because inflation, but not adjusting the ink trade in values up, because inflation.

But their profits are probably way up (most companies are) because inflation (gave them an excuse to jack prices up).

They really aren't CHOOSING to screwing people over. No, of course not. Inflation made them do it.

Crazy that it's effectively a retroactive change. If we spend $50+ now, then the 180 days starts again, but if we spend the $20ish difference, then the 180 days does not restart?

at least according to my dashboard, it says i need to spend $20 more to recycle. I'm assuming when my initial $30 purchase expires in 4 months, it'll ask to purchase $30 more. So, basically my $50 threshold is staggered atm. Wave

Does anyone know if Staples rounds up the purchase price for qualifying? A buddy of mine needs $50 but ink price is $49.79 and $0.21 shy of $50.

My Staples ink purchase in June has *disappeared* from my Staples Orders history.

I did a purchase in June, to put myself over $50 for last 6 months, and then was able to recycle my 20 carts.

The credit for the carts has shown up, BUT the actual ink purchase "history" has DISAPPEARED.

I dont know if its because of "end of month" and their system will refresh shortly.

IF you made an Ink purchase in June, at Staples, check if its now showing up in our order history/rewards...

UPDATE: Looks like it was an End of Month issue, and my purchases are showing back up again.

Was seeing the same issue on my account. There still seems to be problems though because today is the day rewards are supposed to post but I didn't receive mine. Did yours show up?
