Not sure where you saw the 100w limit, but that is pretty bad if that's the case...especially when you consider this laptop isn't especially thin & light where it would make some sense to need the power constraint for thermals. Maybe this one just has garbage cooling.

If you plan on using the trackpad on this buy something else, had this generation omen, these have widespread trackpad issues. Had mine RMAed trackpad replaced, still the same issue. Tons online complain about the same problem with no fix in site. Always knew HP was garbage but the deal I got was too good to pass up but there's always a reason why.
I am looking for a 3070 Laptop and Lenovo 5 Pro around $1389 is on my radar but of course I prefer to get something for $1200.
I have focused on Lenovo because of the QHD screen and screen brightness. Not sure why this is a bad deal (aesthetically these look really nice especially the white Bestbuy exclusive lol but more expensive worse screen than Lenovo and probably slower 3070 than Lenovo 3070)

Not sure if you're aware or not, in this generation of cards, the hardware name alone doesn't guarantee higher performance. The reason is manufacturers can setup the power limit of these graphics cards anywhere between the minimum and maximum provided by Nvidia. RTX 3070 can have power limit or TGP Value anywhere between 80 watt to 140 watt. This laptop has a 90W value which can boost up to 100W for GPU only tasks when the cpu is not stressed. During gaming, when both cpu and GPU are being used, this can only use 90w in most cases, resulting one of the worst performing 3070. Laptops with full 130W RTX 3060, which is supposed to be a lower tier card than this, beat it almost every time. Legion 5 pro has the 140W RTX 3070, maximum allowed by Nvidia and it performs way way above than this Omen 15, despite having same cpu and GPU. Also, the cpu in Omen 15 is configured to use very less power, probably due to not do good cooling solution, and performs worse than the same cpu in other gaming laptops like the Legion 5vand 5 Pro, Asus Rog Strix series and even HP's own Omen 16 series.

I'll echo this. I recently bought the L5P from Walmart and can vouch for its performance, solid build, and overall quality. Well worth $100 more than the Omen IMO.

It's runs cool af tho! Will blow away any 3070 laptop as far as thermals go.
