$649 direct from Garmin. I'd say this is a good deal if you need the watch now but it's the last gen.

This is the same price as the 955 (no solar) that just came out. If you are ok with more plastic, you'll get a boat load of new features and updates. IMO that's the way to go.

Which I would argue most Fenix buyers are not, pretty much why Forerunner and Fenix are different lines. I don't know others but I "abuse" the hell out of my Fenix, I can't even go with the non-sapphire versions. But if one just uses it for road or light trail running definitely go with Forerunner watches.
