Not true. I just ended the 3 months for $2 per month on June 1. I just used this code to resume. Immediately set it to cancel subscription.

That makes you an 'Existing' customer. When your current subscription expires you can then use this promo code (or whatever freebie code is out that month) to get a Free month. If you're a SDer, there's no need to pay for Paramount+.

Maybe a dumb question but...

Do I have to choose a plan first before I can enter the promo code? I had an account with them before so they still have my payment info. I don't want to be charged as soon as I choose a plan.

It is, paramount+ only has the south Park specials. I found this out when I got a trial a few months ago and was disappointed to realize no episodes of SP on Par+.
