My only frustration with the Sonos Move is that you can either have it in Bluetooth mode or have it in Wi-Fi mode. You can't have it in Wi-Fi mode and then try to connect it via Bluetooth without pressing the button on the back of the device. That said, the sound quality, features, built-in-handle, dock, etc are all excellent. (edited for clarity)
Depends on what you need it for. It's much larger and more powerful, so it sounds better. But the Roam is lighter and vastly more portable.
I have both. The Move lives in my garage and is great for taking out in the yard, the deck, or tailgating. The Roam lives in my bathroom so I can listen while I shower and get ready, and it's the one I throw in my carry on for travel. The Move is too big for that.
It's not about one being better or worse, it's about the right tool for the right job.
Using move for over 1 year now, and will not recommend it. Roam might be better option over Move. Move is bulky and you really don't want to carry it places. Also for me Move battery drains out pretty fast. Called customer service but they can't do anything since warranty is only for 1 year. Currently using it as connected to power source. Feel like dead investment. This is one of Sonos failed product.

I have the roam and am really disappointed. Connection is a pain. It stays on when it shouldn't and isn't on when you want to hear connect.
Sound is not very good compared to any other Sonos speaker and battery life is worse.
If you need an outside Sonos just buy and mount a One. If you need a Bluetooth speaker, look for that instead. My JBL charge 4 is in a different class of sound and battery life than the roam.

You're supposed to get 10 to 11 hours of battery life. I'm guessing realistically you should get at least 6 to 7 hours. Do you get that?

I'd never spend more than $100 for a bluetooth speaker I have no idea how powerful it is. At least my UltimateEars Megablast speakers have a dBi of 93. These? Who knows!
You have to experience sonos sound. And its not only bluetooth.. it runs over wifi too. The sound is muchhhh better than bluetooth alternative

This is way better than a simple BlueTooth speaker.
Did they ever fix the Move battery issues? I bought when it came out and returned it because the battery died in no time
I'm not having problems anymore about it dying overly quickly. And if it still does for you, at least they put out batteries for $60 I believe to update them down the road. The old firmware tended to drain the battery though

So Move is better than Roam? And which color recommended?
