For the inquisitive minds: Major Dickinson's story

"A loyal customer of our original Berkeley store, retired army sergeant Key Dickason brought the idea for our most beloved blend to Mr. Peet in 1969. Intrigued, our founder worked with the local gourmand and coffee aficionado to refine it. They sampled countless combinations before arriving at what is now our all-time bestseller. The result was so good, Alfred Peet decided naming it after his friend wasn't enough—Dickason's rich, complex blend also deserved a promotion from sergeant to major.

Major Dickason's combines the best origin coffees from the world's premier growing regions, each imparting its distinctive regional characteristics while still effortlessly rounding into a smooth, balanced cup. Over the years, it has become the coffee that epitomizes Peet's: flavorful, deeply roasted, and unsurpassingly satisfying. But for us, "Major D" is just like a relationship with an old friend. We'll always remember it as the story of a customer's passion, an expert's palate, and a shared love of coffee."

This is the best k cup there is. It is dark so if you are looking for light roast go elsewhere.

The easiest way, among many things (no turning off your lights saves nothing basically, biggest lie ever) is to make your own coffee.

That being said my roomates are morning people, and I am a late night owl. They jump me when I wake up So I got a kuerig for nothing basically from an online estate sale.

Was drinking craphouse, but SF coffee medium roaster on Amazon right now is 120 ct for like 33. It's good enough

This is a great price! This is the go to coffee pod in my home, and we usually get them at Costco which has em for 37.99 and usually go on sale for 5 dollars off. At checkout these were 30.99 without the subscribe discount, really good price! I'm sure we'll pickup a few boxes
Appreciate it and repped!

I try to buy it @$24-26 but will bite, since like others have said been awhile.

I will compare the taste (imho) to Pike Place (i prefer Pikes). This is slightly more dark, more flat tasting, very similar boldness to pikes in the kcup. SF-Bay is like tea to this.

Thanks for the decent deal.

Thanks for the deal, it's been a minute.

Just a heads up for those who don't pay attention to these sort of things: these cups used to contain 13.4g of coffee each. The latest couple batches I have received have 12.5g each. Obviously it's not a huge difference, but the actual coffee quantity was one of the main reasons this cup became my daily driver a few years back.

The standard coffee/water ratio (per SCA) is 55g/L which comes out to about 1.63g/oz. So, 8oz of water should be brewed with about 13g of coffee. 12.5g, IMO, is still acceptable for an 8oz cup. Before (with 13.4g), I was somewhat comfortable stretching to a 10oz cup, thanks to the boldness of flavor in this roast (and because my machine has a "strong" setting which allows for slightly more extraction). With 12.5g that becomes even more of a stretch, to where I would advise against it. Obviously taste can be subjective, but I hope this was informative to those who care.

Peets actually decreased the particle size of the coffee grounds in the k cups and kept the taste the same*. If you are tasting a difference you are either a super taster or your letting your mind trick you.
