You have complete wrong idea about that meaning. May be you should do some research on that. But in very high level, let me explain that to you.
The term "IPS" was used by LG and Philips when they developed the technology and patented to them. So only Panels developed by LG directly or OEM licensed to produce it, can use the term "IPS". However, other companies have their own implementation of the technology. For example, Samsung has PLS (Plane to Line Switching), AU optronic has AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angle) and all of them can deliver similar performance as a LG made "IPS".
So, when Laptop OEMs use panel from other vendors not using LG's technology, they use the term "IPS Like" or "IPS Type" or "WVA" etc.

Seems like good for the specs, but the problem with Gigabyte is always the drivers. Does anyone have experience with this model?

Is this a good deal? I found M15 for 1100$ with same specs and I thought that was a good deal. One more for 1200$ with rtx 3070.

Not too bad. There were deals with similar specs but under different brands like MSI or Acer and HP for $800 to 850 before taxes. Seems like if you don't need it, wait for the price to continue to decline.

"IPS Level Anti-Glare Display", meaning a cheap TN panel, right?

No. It's using a premium AU Optronics B156HAN12.0 panel. The brightness is around 320-340 nits and the GtG response time is less than 5 ms. This is exceptionally good for the price.

I been watching the laptop posts regularly and I have never ever saw a laptop with a full powered 3070 go for $800-850 so I do believe your mistaken. There have been some a long time ago with 3050's and 3060s but never to my knowledge a 3070. It would be a ridiculously good price if they were cause a 3070 by itself goes for around $700-$800 so you would be getting the rest of the laptop for free at that point.

Bought this laptop a week ago from B&H and it had horrible backlight bleed on 3/4 corners of the screen. May your luck be better if you decide to buy it...

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this. Any more thoughts on this?

Finally 3060 laptops coming down to real prices. 2060s were floating around $799-899 a year after release. 3060s have been overpriced above that level for 2 years now.

True, the least I saw was 1200$ with rtx 3070, which graphic card only cost around 700-800. I think that was a killer deal and I missed it!

It seems that you misunderstood his reply because of ambiguous wording, he is implying that the 3060 was going for $800-850, not the 3070

Would this be good for streaming sports for this price point?

I think you misread what I've stated. No where in my post did I mention that the 3070 would drop to 800-850. I'm saying that similar 3060 which this laptop Post has been around 800-850.
