Most don't look like dumb user issues to me. Looks like there are a lot of quality issues. I'm a geek and a cook, early sous vide adopter, but wouldn't go near this until Gen 2. Even the 5-star reviews are full of complaints about lousy app, connectivity dropping, flimsy tray and cracking water tank.
But if you ask me, I would say the best part about this is that you do really have a precise control over all the element this oven could provide. Temperature is really precise to half degree, humidity precise to the percentage, and integrated thermometer works like a charm. I have used this to sous vide and grill a piece of picanha from frozen to perfectly medium rare with great sear in this oven costs only about 2 and half hours. It is really amazing. And there's much more this can do. It is the most used cooking appliance in my house now.
However like I said for cons I can list a lot. The software is not so great - it is not super stable, although not like annoying, but there's a few times I found it disconnected from WiFi. Reboot helps. The integration with alexa and stuff are just barebone. The control on the oven itself is quite hard to use - not that it is badly designed, but the oven is too capable that it takes a lot of time to go through numbers. And cleaning is more challenging than average oven, because it could do a lot it also could make sure all kinds of spills and smudge could present, and the water tank plays a adversary role in this.

Thankfully this is still over my impulse boy threshold …

I've done chilean sea bass filets, pork chops, steaks, etc, all brought up to an exact temperature that I want.
There are benefits over sous vide too. I can quickly heat a salmon filet at 300 until the internal temperature is 100 degrees, then automatically have it reduce temperature until internally it's a perfect 120. Lots of choices that way.
I've had no quality issues with mine except the included pan warps a bit. Not a big deal. It's definitely more involving to clean because it's often a moist mess inside so you have to be careful of mildew.
All in all, I greatly value mine. I got mine at the intro price of $700, so this sale price is fantastic imo.

i saw some of the posts about the tray not holding water or whatnot but I've had zero issues. I even lost my temperature probe once and anova replaced it for free, no questions asked. My one small gripe is that the buttons can be a bit tricky to press and you have to press them a lot. (I find I use the app less often than in beginning.)
Counter space is an issue but otherwise, I think this easily replaces and improves on a regular oven for a small family.
