Pretty sure the extended warranty doesn't cover burn in
It doesn't cover burn in, LG will usually cover you for one burn in per panel but I've had a C9 for two years and game every day on it. Not a single bit of even temporary image retention more less burn in.

Yeah just stating so someone doesn't purchase this thinking that it's covered.

Does Costco price match its online store if you already bought it in-store? I just got one last week and don't want to repackage it

Anyone here ever abuse Costco's return policy and return a TV after a few years?
I heard a few stories about this ~20 years ago.

But that's why Costco and Sam's both amended their return policies 15 years ago to put a 90-day return policy on TVs, computers, cameras, and several other items.

Have you not read the return policy?

My desk is about 30 inches deep as well.

It's about using it correctly. When I'm gaming I just go back a few feet in my chair, mainly use it for the Xbox Series X.

When I use it with the MacBook Pro, I just use an app like rectangle to use smaller windows. Windows has an app similar called Fancy Zones.

I also had trepidation about buying a 48 inch TV for the desk but, after using the smaller windows approach, I think it will work fine.

small inconvenience for the picture quality that no monitor in that price range can touch
Wow, rectangle is exactly what I've been looking for. I have an m1 Mac for work and it has been **atrocious** for window resizing, full screen, etc. I would swap it for a Windows/Linux box in a heartbeat. (And I type that from my iPhone playing Apple Music into my AirPods controlled from my Apple Watch.)

MacOS is the worst OS I've ever used and Apple's non-standard keyboard layout makes switching between multiple OSes a PITA.

I also have a C9 as our main TV with no issues at all.

Burn in on models from around 2017 and older was much more common than it is now as the technology has improved.

With these newer OLED models I haven't seen much of any feedback regarding burn in. Hopefully it has now become a thing of the past...this is a great price!

This nonsense is why REIs amazing warranty ended.

I bought the C2 42" and it's been a great TV. but I would rather pocket the $500 and get this instead, if only I could fit it in the bedroom. 48" takes up too much of the wall.
How much was the 42"?

Just bought this yesterday, guess I'm going back to Costco this weekend to price adjust.

Using it as a gaming/desktop setup, I have a 65" C9 in the living room. Fantastic picture quality as expected.
How far back does one need to sit to use this as a monitor? I've been considering this TV or an OLED ultra wide, but worried about the TV having low PPI and being too close to my face since my desk is fairly shallow.

Think it works just fine for me. I've read some things about text not being sharp, but it seems pretty sharp to my eyes. I'd give it a go. I edit a lot of go pro videos of family stuff and fishing trips and I tried out final cut pro on it and it was great to have that much real estate to have multiple tool windows open at once

Costco still has 90 days return on TVs. Give it a try and see if it works for you.
Awesome, really appreciate the response. I would primarily use for video editing and light gaming so seems like it will fit my needs. Good to know about the return policy as well. Thanks again!

It was $1400. now $1349 if you can catch it on stock (usually in the mornings). 42" does give a lot better pixel density than the larger ones and it does have a few features better like supporting ultra wide display (adds letterbox on top and bottom). The issue is just the early adopter price where this TV will likely be $1100 or $1200 during Black Friday. The demand for the TV is quite high despite the higher price tag.

Does anybody still see the 55" C1 on their website?
