Prices on all current gen devices are going nowhere but down with new models coming in a couple months. Unless you need it now it's likely better to wait - the deals will get better this summer. The 7 will be at or under $300 for sure.

Costco.com has this deal already for few days. however, they do charge $4.99 for shipping. so it is cheaper then costco and better deal, however those who can get 3% back it is worth it.

Quick glance online, people are saying to YOLO it and just buy applecare for it.. that looks to cost $80/year + $70 per "incident" if you need it swapped out there. That's $150 to live without a case if it gets scratched or dinged.

I notice the TV ads focus on how crack-resistant it is, but tend to be quiet about scratch resistance, which I assume its not?

i bought a cheap silicone protector from target. does the job for everyday use, but needs cleaning out dust every other day.
my mom has an otterbox case and swears by it. she does a lot of gardening and hiking so she wanted the best protection.
