Wow, that's an incredible price! We love our robot vacuum. The tab that locks the dustbin in place broke on ours awhile back, and because the dustbin was backordered, they just replaced the entire vacuum. 😳 Vacuum sometimes has weird pathfinding around obstacles. The map sometimes gets messed up, but we resolve it by just picking the unit up and putting it back on the charger, and it corrects itself. 99% of the time, we send it out to vacuum, forget about it completely, and come back to clean floors! We have mostly wood floors, but previously had carpet, and it's done great on both, in our experience.

Just felt like posting because we really like ours, so call me a Robot Vacuum evangelist, I guess. lol

I wouldn't touch this. I wanted to buy this around Black Friday but stumbled upon this thread.

https://forums.wyzecam.com/t/robo.../183918/19

It's an ongoing issue that wyze won't address.

I would highly recommend against this; I had to pay to replace my rental house's carpet because of this stupid thing. To make up for it, Wyze sent me a piece of plastic that helps it dock properly (which wasn't related to it ruining my carpets, but it does have issues docking on medium/high pile carpet so it did help another unrelated problem). (Though IMO it's pretty absurd to sell a vacuum that doesn't dock well if the dock is on carpet.)

If the vaccuum gets confused or semi-stuck, it will just try harder. What happened is it got stuck somehow on a very small flooring transition (carpet -> tile) and tried to brute force the situation. This caused the wheels to rev, literally melting part of the carpet with heat from the (rubber?) wheels.

Support told me they'd heard of this happening a bunch before and didn't need any more information from me.

Aside from possibly ruining your flooring, the vacuum worked pretty dang well. The software was glitchy and lost my map a few times, but otherwise it was a HUGE improvement over my prior roombas (though that experience was from probably 5-10 years ago and I assume those have improved as well).

One more concern I'd have is that you can't buy consumable parts for it right now. With Wyze being wyze, who knows if they plan to continue making the filters, etc. I didn't do a deep dive but didn't see any generic alternatives, so keep in mind this might end up disposable based on Wyze's whim. (I doubt it's even a fraction as popular so who knows if a generic manufacturer will step in when wyze drops everything on the floor.)

Personally, the drastically reduced price plus needed accessories being out of stock would make me not jump even at this price. (Though if someone corrects me on there being generic equivalents it wouldn't be a big deal, but I'd still wonder how long Wyze would keep this alive which matters for cloud-based devices.)

Unrelated to the vacuum specifically: Wyze is a terrible company which continued to ship devices with significant security flaws. It took almost 3 years to fix most of the issues, during which they just... ignored the problem. Their v1 cameras were never fixed, and they EOLed them 2 years AFTER the security issue was disclosed to them to avoid having to fix them.
This. The vac works great on hard surfaces. I didn't have any issues with mapping, navigating, or docking etc. I did have to replace my carpets because when it does get stuck, in corners mostly for me, the wheels spin and "melt" into the carpet. No amount of vacuuming, wet vacuuming, or spot cleaning (Bissell spot cleaner) would get the marks off. Forced to replace whole rooms because the corners around furniture had these black skid marks.

Anybody upgrade to these from the cheaper "bounce around" Eufy vacuums? I have two of the Eufy ones but they often get stuck and make a ton of noise trying to correct itself. Thanks in advance !
I have had multiple eufy bump models and the wyze vac and this is a significant upgrade in terms of coverage and time. Since the eufy vacs dont know where they've been they keep running until the battery is low, usually about 90 minutes. Gets the job done, but the wyze vac with lidar does the same space in roughly 30. Love having virtual barriers vs magnetic strips to keep the vac out.

The main downside is the wyze vac is easily twice to 3 times as loud. You can still hang out in the room while the eufy vacs run with only minor annoyance, the wyze is like if someone was running a full size vac right next to you. I also had the foam gasket around the bin peel off almost immediately, but that's the only issue I've had with the vac. I've also heard there's issues with it leaving marks on the floor near the dock, but mine is on tile and they wiped right off.

have never owned one, but pulled the trigger. this post above sold me
I got one from the last $199 deal, no complaints. I just bought 2nd one from this deal for my basement. BTW, any side brush and HEPA Filter on Amazon that can fit for Mijia STYJ02YM, Conga 3490, or Viomi V2 V-RVCLM21B Vacuum will fit this one perfectly.

Same. Requested a cancellation but I guess it was already in the prepping stage. So have to wait for Walmart to approve/not approve the cancellation. I'll just return it once I receive it if they send it out. I'm not going to deal with black skid marks all over my floor.

Appears to be a rebranded roborock- which I have and love. The only thing it's missing is a notification if the dustbing gets full, which i don't even know if that's a feature on robotic sweepers.
