Wow, that's an incredible price! We love our robot vacuum. The tab that locks the dustbin in place broke on ours awhile back, and because the dustbin was backordered, they just replaced the entire vacuum. 😳 Vacuum sometimes has weird pathfinding around obstacles. The map sometimes gets messed up, but we resolve it by just picking the unit up and putting it back on the charger, and it corrects itself. 99% of the time, we send it out to vacuum, forget about it completely, and come back to clean floors! We have mostly wood floors, but previously had carpet, and it's done great on both, in our experience.

Just felt like posting because we really like ours, so call me a Robot Vacuum evangelist, I guess. lol

I wouldn't touch this. I wanted to buy this around Black Friday but stumbled upon this thread.

https://forums.wyzecam.com/t/robo.../183918/19

It's an ongoing issue that wyze won't address.

Appears to be a rebranded roborock- which I have and love. The only thing it's missing is a notification if the dustbing gets full, which i don't even know if that's a feature on robotic sweepers.
It's not a Roborock. AFAIK Wyze doesn't rebrand things, they use Chinese OEMs to make their own products as cheaply as possible. They most likely used a manufacturer's generic or knockoff robot vacuum design template and added some of their own customizations.

I have had multiple eufy bump models and the wyze vac and this is a significant upgrade in terms of coverage and time. Since the eufy vacs dont know where they've been they keep running until the battery is low, usually about 90 minutes. Gets the job done, but the wyze vac with lidar does the same space in roughly 30. Love having virtual barriers vs magnetic strips to keep the vac out.

The main downside is the wyze vac is easily twice to 3 times as loud. You can still hang out in the room while the eufy vacs run with only minor annoyance, the wyze is like if someone was running a full size vac right next to you. I also had the foam gasket around the bin peel off almost immediately, but that's the only issue I've had with the vac. I've also heard there's issues with it leaving marks on the floor near the dock, but mine is on tile and they wiped right off.
Not doubting you here, but I have a Eufy 11S currently and bought this deal.

According this site [cleanup.expert], the Eufy 11S makes about ~55dB of noise during operation. However, I just measured my own Eufy 11S while sitting in the same room about 10 feet away (49dB ambient noise without it running), and noise went up to 59dB on "standard" mode and 63dB on "max" mode (ignore spikes when it bumped into things, which should be less of an issue on a LIDAR robot).

According to this site [wyze.com] says the Wyze Robot Vacuum makes between 58dB and 64dB depending on setting which is pretty much the range I measured my Eufy 11S at. Because an increase of 10dB is perceived as roughly twice as loud, even an increase of ~5dB on average would only be about 30-40% louder.

Xiaomi, which owns Roborock, tried to get Amazon to take down the Wyze vacuum for patent infringement. In response, Wyze has filed a lawsuit to invalidate the patent.

So it seems safe to say Xiaomi & Roborock are not producing this vacuum for Wyze. Most likely another Chinese factory knocked off the design and made minor changes for Wyze, which is common practice in China.

Anyone know if it works on the 2.4 or 5ghz band? I bought a eufy vac previously and it wouldn't connect to WiFi.

I have a dyson v10 vacuum that I use normally. Do I need this robot? I barely have time to vacuum our whole house tbh.

How are these compared to s5 max?
It's nice, but has a smaller battery and a little less suction than the S5 Max. Also the Wyze doesn't mop.

I will not buy any more Wyze products. And I believe you would do the same thing. This company is not trustworthy. I have spent more than $500 on a wyze camera.

I also bought one and then saw those posts and cancelled.
Tried to cancel, but too late. Now I have the dilemma of whether or not to give it a try vs driving straight back to the store. Most posts seem positive but I'm not sure I want to risk even a small chance of destroying a rug. Sigh, usually I dither and miss out on deals…. This time I jumped fast. Lol!

I bought one of these during preorder and use it daily. No issues on our rugs in a mostly hardwood and LVT home through a couple years of use. If you find it stuck, just block out the zone in the app until it runs smoothly.... that's the whole point.

Best robot vac I've owned, including Neato and Roomba. Set up your map, eliminate the problem zones and it's a workhouse. I've used it daily since launch 2ish? years ago... Good value at this price
