I wouldn't touch this. I wanted to buy this around Black Friday but stumbled upon this thread.https://forums.wyzecam. It's an ongoing issue that wyze won't address. |

certain rubber and vinyl compounds react so I guess there is some vinyl in the carpet fibers or backing the wheels are reacting with. (source: https://forums.wyzecam. |

I have nice floors and expensive carpets. Saving a few dollars on a vacuum that could potentially ruin them would be a false economy of the highest order.
I have some Wyze 3 cameras that I like, but yes, the issue with them failing to disclose known security vulnerabilities with their cameras for so long is inexcusable. It also shows that the company has a culture of covering up known problems, so it seems very plausible that the reports of permanent floor and carpet stains caused by the wheels of this vacuum are real and that Wyze is in CYA mode about it.
I already didn't trust Wyze because of their camera security hole cover-up. I'm just not going to risk it with the vacuum given the multitude of reports with photos of damage.
A easy workaround would be to insert a piece of plastic next to the charging base . They give this plastic with the Roborock vacumms but you can easily make one on your own. I had a Wyze vacuum before and I was extremely happy with it . Battery life is short but for the price it was worth it.
But for the features (LiDar & mapping) and known brand this seems like a nice price.
I really like the app scheduling function. My little guy starts on his journey each morning at 8am after we leave the house and only sometimes gets stuck and decides to play hide and seek. My cat hates it lol
Where is that deal?
I bought the wyze since Walmart has a easier return policy in case it doesn't work as expected.
