As someone who's never had an Apple Watch but has always semi wanted one… should I wait for the 8, wait for the 7 to drop some more, or go for a refurbed 4/5/6 from eBay?

I'd wear it daily to work, don't need cellular, and would like to use it to track bike rides.

Im no expert but here is what i think...

The series 3 is criminally slow, and i would be concerned that the 4 and 5 will get bogged down with the new watchOS software updates just announced (surely it will just be a coincidence if this actually happens).

Other than the performance, the series 7 screen goes all the edge of the watch which is hard to un-see when comparing it to the older models...the other stuff is the pulseOX and EKG which i feel very few people will actually need/utilize.

Other than that, they all sorta look the same style-wise, and the rumors are that the series 8 will actually look different...so yeah, the reason to wait is only if you aren't really into the way apple watches currently look...which is kinda silly but the heart wants what it wants.

Interesting! Thanks for the input! I actually just found out about Best Buy and their open box items. I see a 45mm GPS only watch that is labeled "open box fair" for $280. It says items with this label has "significant s cosmetic signs of use and vital accessories might be missing" apparently, it's hot or miss though from what I've read. Could very well be a new watch that was mislabeled since it was returned. Is $280 a good price?
