Vegan Suede is made out of plastics like PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or PU (polyurethane). In addition to using petroleum, the process of making these materials uses many chemicals, including toxic substances such as acetic acid and dimethylformamide.

A lot of people feel better about themselves by not using the left over hide from the animals consumed but instead using petroleum from the middle east or Russia and chemicals from China.

I had a faux leather hoodie and it just got shredded from sitting in my closet.

Yes I feel better about not participating in ANY exploitation of animals/ sentient beings. It doesn't matter if it's "left over". Where there exist demand for animal based products, there exists exploitation to some degree at a given point along the supply chain.

In response to your misleading comment about toxic chemicals and environmental concerns related to the production of vegan suede, have you looked up the process to clean and tan animal leathers?

"skins are soaked in revolving drums filled with water, bactericides, and detergents. Hair is removed with the application of chemical sprays or lime solutions. Another round of washing (de-liming) removes these chemicals before the hides are soaked in an acid solution and then bated, an enzyme treatment to further remove the skins' collagens. Finally, the hides are pickled with salt and sulfuric acid."

Animals are a natural resource to be used, nothing you say or do can or will change that.

It's cool you know Abercrombie's supply chain so well! Do you work there?
Considering you can look on any Ambercrombie shirt and see "Made in China"... not hard to guess that it's "Made in China". but go off trying to sound smart, or something.

You do know that acetic acid is just vinegar right? Good on salads. Can wash it down with dihydrogen monoxide.
