Kroger is currently having 4x fuel points. So I registered for Kroger ID, clipped 4x coupon. I reach my first Kroger Fuel Center near Fort Wayne, IN - by which time, my 55-gal regular-gas tank will be near empty.
1. It seems my daughter also needs to open Kroger's - so at same fill-up of ~ 50gallons, she would also use her points (once I hang pump after my 35gal fill)?
2. Must I shop at Kroger grocery store (near Kroger Fuel Center) first, or can I buy Giftcards at Kroger Fuel Center and get points $1/gal off coupon?
3. What are the mechanics of obtaining and redeeming $1/gal off coupons? How much in "other gas GCs" (or can we buy Kroger Fuel, VISA or Mastercard or AMEX instead?) do we need to buy to get enough points for $1off 35-gal fill?

2===I have always bought my cards in the Kroger store. Not sure they have a selection of gift cards at the fuel center. I stock up on cards I know I am going to use --Home Depot--Lowes--Amazon--Kohls (Christmas time) Macys(Christmas) Favorite restaurants.
Gift cards are also available on-line. On the Kroger website, go to gift card mall.
Fuel points are automatically loaded on your Kroger card account. Scan your card at the pump or enter your Alt ID and follow the prompts on the pump screen. At 4X fuel points, you need to buy $250 worth of gift cards to get 1000 points. 1000 points = $1 off per gallon up to 35 gallons.
If you fill up a 55 gallon fuel tank, you actually lose $15 because you dont get the maximum savings.
55 gallons (using 2 accounts) = $55 savings
70 gallons (max. using 2 accounts) = $70 savings

Also---start a on-line account at Kroger.com---they will send offers to your on line account for 200 bonus points when you buy certain cards--Right now I have 200 bonus points for Cracker Barrel. If I spend $25 on a Cracker Barrel card, I get 4X points=100 points plus 200 bonus points. 300 points for buying a $25 card. That's equal to $10.50 off 35 gallons.
