Use the Scotts® Turf Builder® EdgeGuard® Mini Broadcast Spreader to apply fertilizer, grass seed, and other lawn care products. This lawn spreader comes pre-calibrated and ready-to-use, and holds up to 5,000 sq. ft. of Scotts® product. When EdgeGuard™ is engaged, it will block off the right-side of the spreader pattern to prevent product from spreading onto non-lawn areas.

Using the Scotts® Turf Builder® EdgeGuard® Mini Broadcast Spreader is simple. To begin, turn rate control dial to the correct setting listed on the back of each Scotts® product, pour the product in the hopper, then start spreading. The lawn spreader's design enhancements feature a curved hopper and dual-bladed agitator for smooth product funneling and consistent coverage. Not to mention, it is compact and features a fold-down handle for easy storage. Spreaders provide uniform coverage of granular products; without one, you may end up with uneven coverage of fertilizer or control products that can result in uneven feeding, weed, disease, or insect control. Scotts® spreaders can also be used to distribute salt on walkways and driveways.

Do not buy. Will burn/kill your lawn due to the media hitting the inside of the wheels, dropping straight down, causing over application.

These things are so overpriced for what they are - this is a good price vs MSRP

Have anyone had any experience with using granule pesticide in this?

Grap a 2 buck can of insulation spray foam. Remove the wheels and slowly fill the voids about 50 percent. The foam will expand, cut off any excess.

I know this spreader gets a lot of hate sometimes, and it seems justified from some pics I've seen where the fert gets stuck in the wheels. But my personal anecdote is I've had mine going on 6 years without any issues. Honestly I think I'd rather just replace it with the same one if it ever developed problems because a spreader just ain't worth $100+ to me for my 3000sqft lawn.

The Scotts Wizz handheld battery spreader is often suggested if you want an alternative and have a smaller yard.
