its really a sin what garmin can get away with as they have a virtual monopoly in the industry. horrid UI, terrible screen resolutions, terrible interface between the device and computer. . this 64 series was released in 2014. 2000 and friggin fourteen. nearly 10 year old tech that was using old tech at the time of its release and costs pennies to manufacture. their high end units are no different.
but what are the other options? magellan doesnt even have anything handheld anymore.

Well I guess due to this simple specs it can run 16 hours on 2 aa batteries.
Alternative is cheap android cell phone with preloaded maps (available online for free), with power bank.
