European oil is specifically designed and engineered to provide you with excellent wallet draining capacity while providing you with little to no benefits over full synthetics all while demanding a premium price.
If you're wondering, a European car will not have any problem running non European spec oil. Been using Shell T6 oil for years in everything (CBR1000RR, built Vette Porsche 911TS, diesel trucks, etc) and have about 15 gallons left in a 55 gallon drum.
Liquimolly is just riding the euro car forum hype machine. Analyses show liqui Molly's entire line is overall just "good." Read more on the bob oil forums.

This is the oil I've always used for my VW, and it rarely is more expensive than any other oil. This year I ordered 2 jugs of the Penzoil on the Shell promotion, which came out to about $12 per jug. What's interesting with Penzoil is in their highest grade, the Ultra Platinum, they do not carry a Euro version. Sometimes I wonder if it's idiotic to continue using the VW 502 spec and not just grab the best oil since it's a similar price, like the Ultra Platinum vs their Platinum Euro.
IMHO Mobil1 is better than the USA Liquimoly.
There have been plenty of independent tests where Liquimoly has placed mid to low end of the pack.
Others mentioned bob oil forums which is a great resource, but 540RAT Blog also gives you a view from a mechanical engineer's testing data. https://540ratblog.wordpress.com/.
I also have exclusively run Mobil1 on all my vehicles for 20+ years. Every single one of them having 200-300K miles+ before I sold them (or crashed them haha). I currently own an 06 330i with 240K miles and a highly tuned hybrid turbo 335i with 130K miles and both have run this exactly Mobil1 since the beginning of their life. Not a single lubrication related issue and none of the lifter tick that others experience with the N52 on my early build date 330i.
Damn…. How much oil is it burning? I'm at 170k miles and get the warning to add 1 quart at around 4400 miles. Early build N52 as well.

N52 goes thru about 1/2 quart every 5K miles, which is probably mostly seeping thru the oil pan gasket that has been slowly weeping for some time. I'm not 100% sure on how much is actually "burned" vs leaked out thru oil pan gasket leak. I have all the parts but I've been putting it off because its kind of a bigger job, just gotta get off my lazy a**. I always change the oil every 5K miles so I never have to add oil between services.
I did have some oil consumption issue like 100K miles ago but I changed out the entire CCV system and that reduced "consumption" in half.
Can I use instead of 0w20? Does it make my car go faster?
You need high octane blinker fluid to go faster. Ask about it at the counter of your local auto parts store. They keep it in the back cause people like to steal it.

This is the way.
Shell T6 is that other lube she tells you not to worry about.
