Bought two less than a year ago. One to charge while I used the other. Used for ice fishing and hunting so frequently during those seasons but not much outside. Charged each unit probably 20 times and then the charging port fell apart. Not secured at all outside of cheap solder joint. Other than that it would have been a great lightweight and bright light.

One of many reasons rechargeable doesn't name sense here. Better off with cr123 lithium, always ready too.

Yes it does seem like rechargeable stuff means that it will run out of charge at the worst possible moment and charging it back up takes time. And there's too many things to charge already. regular battery replacement is instant, on the other hand.

Exactly! Same reason I wouldn't put rechargeable laser on my glock for only incremental portability.

It depends on perspective, you run out of battery and have to buy/order new and wait, vs charging there is a charger available almost everywhere.

Looks like the green headlamp one isn't on sale now, but I was able to order the black version with the 50% off coupon. I'd check the other color options if you are looking at a different style.
