I don't recommend living next to someone that doesn't know you need to weigh down an umbrella if you're going to leave it out in the wind.

Some ridiculous comments here.

Strong winds WILL tip over any standing umbrella regardless of make/brand if not sufficiently supported or bolted down and umbrella's should not be left open when not being used. Even when bolted down, if it's windy, get up and close the umbrella so you don't destroy the hinges/joints.

how shitty are these if we don't leave them open 24/7, i'd either pack it away after every use, it at least close it so the wind doesn't blow it

This is Slickdeals. It's totally believable. People literally don't know when to spend money. Should have bought themselves Brown Jordan (which still, unfortunately, only has a 1 year warranty, the same as bottom of the barrel Hampton Bay patio furniture - guess which one I buy?). My parents have Brown Jordan stored outdoors 9 months of the year in CA that is nearing 40 years old.

The tilt mechanism is the weakest point of the umbrella. They break and you can't do anything to fix it. I want to buy good umbrellas without tilt but it's hard to search patio umbrellas without tilt.

BTW, the Walmart site is getting annoying with the holding button robot or human thing. I got tired of it popping up too many times so I stop buying from Walmart.

Replacement canopies were going for $10 -$15 before the economy went whack. Theyre $25 now. This is worth it just for the canopy.
