I know this because Box 1 of 4 was delivered to me mostly torn up and small pieces of The playset we're falling out and smelled like Cedarwood.

I'm wondering if this stuff really is cedar. Of course cedar would make sense given its antipest properties, but it's also somewhat light and expensive. I had a playset that someone gave me, was 20 years old when I sold it with my previous house; it was cedar (much beefier beams) and was still going, but at the time it was purchased, it was several $k (Rainbow). So, there are certainly gradiations in quality.
I question if this stuff is really cedar for 2 main reasons:
- the wood feels INCREDIBLY light/ "cheap"
- the cedar scent is overpowering. I was assembling one the other day and the scent was so strong it was giving me a headache. I've never worked with ANY kind of cedar where the scent was that strong. I am wondering if they pick some cheap wood and douse it in chemicals to make it smell like cedar to fool everyone, or even if the wood is some kind of inferior cedar they have to toss air fresheners on to fool the public.
I have a 24' x 12' space and the dimensions for the play set is 14' 1" x 10' 2".
I know there no way I could get the 6' recommended clearance on all sides. I'm thinking if I place the play set diagonal from one corner will it give enough clearance for the slide?
I'm hoping a diagram expert could help out. Thanks.
